Superintendent’s Welcome

Welcome to Colt Country and thank you for visiting our website.

Richland #44 is a wonderful Class B school district focused on providing a well-rounded student education. We have a strong history, proud alumni base, and fantastic community that truly support our schools.

Our mission at Richland #44 is educating students to be responsible citizens and leaders. To us this means that we will educate our students on what they need to move on to the next grade level and ultimately graduation, but also to be valuable and productive members of society who give pack to their communities.  Academics and life skills are both so important; having students who are well-rounded – with the capability to demonstrate high levels of learning but also be able to speak well, care for others, and develop useful skills – is something we highly value.

Our district’s vision it to empower and engage ALL to succeed in an inclusive, student-centered environment that promotes learning and growth. We will accomplish this by utilizing a standards-referenced curriculum that focuses on the overall development of academic skills, technology literacy, and life skills. An inclusive, student-centered environment means that we provide an environment in which all students can feel comfortable and welcomed. Our students are so unique and have different strengths and weaknesses, meaning we are purposeful about meeting the needs of all of our students.  Academically, we follow North Dakota state standards and align curriculum to those standards.

We have a wonderful history of pride, strong achievement, and a wonderful community and staff.  Despite this success, our goal is to improve our reading and math achievement scores each year. We will continue to find ways to deliver high-quality education while adjusting for students who are struggling or who may need to be challenged.

I value the relationships I have with our students, families, staff, and community, and therefore welcome feedback and discussion.  Do not hesitate to reach out – even if for a cup of coffee – and help us work together to continue to make Richland #44 the best school district for your children.

Warmly,

Dr. Britney Gandhi
