Virtual Learning Plan

Virtual instruction will be determined on a day-to-day basis under the discretion of the superintendent (School Board Policy ABAC). Built-in makeup days will be used before virtual learning days are considered. . If/when those makeup days have been used, then the superintendent may choose to utilize virtual learning.

Elementary

PreK

PreK students will not do virtual learning but will have an optional packet to work on. Families will not be charged for virtual learning days.

Grades K-6

On virtual learning days, students in grades K-6 will have packets to work on at home. Attendance will be taken the next school day based on the work students turn into their teachers. The packets will be left in backpacks as a precaution.

Teachers will be available via email and Remind throughout the normal school day hours.

Jr/Sr High School

Students in grades 7-12 will have assignments posted in Google Classroom by 9am. They must turn in assignments by 3pm. If a class does not meet that day (i.e. a class that meets every other day) there will not be an assignment in that course.

Teachers will be available via email throughout the normal school day hours.

Attendance

Students will be marked present once they have turned in the assignment for that course. Attendance will be taken at the end of the day for each class.

Students in online classes must turn in at least one assignment that day to be counted present. They need to take a screenshot of the page showing they turned in an assignment (displaying date turned in) and email to Sarah (sarah.kummer@k12.nd.us).

Extracurricular Activities

In general, extracurricular activities will not be held on virtual learning days. Buildings are closed for outside use on virtual learning days. The superintendent will determine whether extracurricular activities may be held later in the day based on improving conditions.
