Richland #44 students in grades 4-6 competed in both team and individual events alongside students from 15 other school districts in our region. Our sixth-grade team earned 2nd place in their division, and Grace H. placed 2nd in the individual competition for sixth grade.

Today's staff feature is Katie Hegseth who has served several years as a Jr/Sr HS paraprofessional and earlier this year stepped up to fill a much-needed full-time sub position. Katie is adaptable and ready to help all students PK-12 in our district. She also serves our district through PTO and by serving as a board member on school's Foundation board. Thank you for all you do, Katie!


Mrs. Heyen is one of our most veteran teachers in the school district. She teaches English at Richland Jr/Sr High School and is also the school librarian. Mrs. Heyen has a wonderful history of memories and experiences with decades of Richland grads. Thank you for your commitment to our students, Mrs. Heyen!


Mrs. Norton is like a constant ray of sunshine on a stormy day! She teaches 4th grade at Richland Elementary and finds the positive in every situation and child. We are grateful for all she brings to our elementary kiddos and staff. Thank you, Mrs. Norton!

Today we are featuring Mrs. Zetocha, FACS teacher at Richland Jr/Sr High School. Mrs. Zetocha instructs essential life skills to students in grades 7-12 and also runs our FCCLA organization and important programs like Secret Grandparents. Kendra Dockter is today's staff feature! Kendra is our dedicated business manager, having served almost her entire career here. She keeps us in compliance and helps oversee district finances. Tomorrow is an inclement weather makeup day. To prioritize in-person learning, our guidelines are to first use makeup days and then transition to virtual learning, if needed.

It's time for another staff feature! We are excited to welcome Mr. Bakke to our staff this year as our Jr/Sr high school social studies teacher. In addition to teaching all social studies classes at the high school, Mr. Bakke is one of our high school football coaches. We are grateful for his willingness to help out wherever is needed and for the energy he brings to our school.
