During the 'Day of Play', parents and children will have the opportunity to learn and explore how to create a learning environment through play at home. There will be various stations and activities for families to enjoy. Parents are free to choose which stations they are interested in and move around the event. Additionally, there will be free learning items available to take home, such as age-appropriate books, sensory bin materials, and fine motor materials.
This event is sponsored by the CLSD Grant and put into motion by select professionals at SEEC.

𝔽𝕖𝕓𝕣𝕦𝕒𝕣𝕪 𝟝-𝟡 𝕚𝕤 ℕ𝕒𝕥𝕚𝕠𝕟𝕒𝕝 𝕊𝕔𝕙𝕠𝕠𝕝 ℂ𝕠𝕦𝕟𝕤𝕖𝕝𝕚𝕟𝕘 𝕎𝕖𝕖𝕜! Please join us in celebrating two of the very best: Ms. Monroe (Jr/Sr High) and Mrs. Jelinek (Elementary). Thank you both for having an important impact on our schools and communities!

Thanks to student enrollment growth, next school year our district will return to a three-administrator structure from our current two-administrator model. Dr. Gandhi will serve as full-time superintendent, and we will have a Jr/Sr HS principal in addition to our elementary principal.
We are excited to announce that Mr. Lukas Davison has been identified as our new Jr/Sr HS Principal and Activities Director!
Mr. Davison is the assistant principal at Yankton Middle School in Yankton, SD. Before this role, he taught middle school science for six years in the Harrisburg School District in Sioux Falls, SD. Mr. Davison holds a master’s degree in education administration from the University of South Dakota and a bachelor’s degree in biology with a secondary education certification from South Dakota State University. During his time as a Jackrabbit, he competed for their men’s golf team.
In addition to his commitment to academics, Mr. Davison actively engages with students outside of the classroom. He coached middle school basketball in Harrisburg and also coached for The First Tee of Sioux Falls, helping kids learn the game of golf. Mr. Davison also serves the community of Yankton as a board member of the Yankton Area Foundation and the Yankton Area Jackrabbit Alumni Association.
Originally from Fargo, Mr. Davison graduated from Fargo South High School. His ties to North Dakota are deep-rooted and he is excited to join Colt Country with his family. Mr. Davison and his wife, Alli, welcomed their first child last spring.
Mr. Davison will start his new positions in July. Please help us in welcoming Mr. Davison to Colt Country!

Congratulations to the Richland #44 2023-2024 Teacher and Staff of the Year!
Our Teacher of the Year Mrs. Vorachek teaches special education at the junior senior high school. She has taught in Colfax for 11 years and has also coached elementary and junior high volleyball and basketball. One of her colleagues said, "Mrs. Vorachek is a wonderful educator, making sure all her students have what they need, she is always professional, and she is involved in student activities outside of the school day (whether coaching or supporting from the stands). She always has the best interest of students and staff at the forefront."
Our Staff of the Year Tom Wulfekuhle is the head custodian at our elementary school. He is in his third school year working for the school district and has held many volunteer positions over the years including Coltbackers treasurer. One of his colleagues said, "Tom goes above and beyond to keep our school clean. He has been working overtime to make sure things get done and does it without complaint. Tom also has great relationships with kids and staff."
Congratulations to Mrs. Vorachek and Tom, and thank you to all of our incredible staff for serving our Colt students!
